Cold Plates for this kind of thing. It is a flat surface with the fans that blow air under the bottom of the laptop for better cooling.
With a laptop to bed is usually not a good idea if you have a cooling pad or something fans are expected to ensure.
Your laptop can not "breathe", when used on a bed will be. It also voids the warranty, the manual specifically recommends using a firm level surface. Personally, I use a laptop on the bed, as the abuse
