Question about low CBC values? - low mpv value
My 6-year-old daughter is experiencing ever again urticaria. She had a persistent low grade fever. His laboratory values on 4/14/09 were:
WBC 3.3 (low)
LYM 1.6 R1 49.3 (lower limit)
MID 0.4 12.1 (lower limit)
LARGE 1.3 38.6 (low)
RBC 3.95 (low)
HGB 11.8 (low)
HCT 34.6 (low)
MCV 87.7 (normal)
MCH 29.9 (normal)
MCHC 34.1 (normal)
RDW 13.2 (normal)
PLT 114 (small)
VP 9.6 (lower limit)
(The indicators in parentheses are values established by the laboratory by a pediatrician, and are so marked in the data report. However, the PEDS doc said to me that the CBC was normal. This does not seem right to me.)
Can someone explain these laboratory findings and what, if anything, maybe I have to follow?
As additional background information, the child was still immune deficiency as a child who requires injections of gamma globulin. It has also repeatedly caused pain in the joints (no known cause - on "Growing Pains"), pitted nails and recurrent abdominal pain. It also has very mILD asthma.
TIA for any constructive help!

Instead of the limited, little low, normal, you should find out what the parameters are normal for their age. Or simply ask your doctor to check these values with you and explain everything. Pitted nails ...... sounds very specific but these values go to the doc who ordered the lab for them.
